Kenneth P. Kreisher , age 92, of Catawissa, died on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, a patient of the Orangeville Health and Rehabilitation Center in Orangeville. Kenneth was a life time resident of Locust Twp., Columbia County.
Kenneth was born on Thursday, January 31, 1924 in Locust Twp., a son of the late Lester and Mabel (Rarig) Kreisher. Throughout his younger years, Kenneth attended the Locust Twp. schools, and later graduated from the Locust Twp. High School in 1942.
For his entire working career, Kenneth was a self employed farmer. For 25 years he was employed by Knoebel's Grove where he drove "Old Smokey", the train, provided ride operators relief and was former paymaster. His mechanical skills provided employment as a mechanic for many area employers.
Kenneth was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, Millgrove, he was also a life member of South Side Conservation Club and Valley Chemical Fire Co. Kenneth especially enjoyed annual Easter egg hunts on his farm for his great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was also preceded by his beloved wife Della R. (Billhime) Kreisher. on January 2, 2010.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara J. LeVan and husband, Dennis of Catawissa and Jean M. Fronk and husband, Dale, of Greenville, SC and a son, Paul Kreisher and wife, Kathy, of Bloomsburg; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and sisters: Margaret Valencik of Catawissa and Mary Hoffman of Melbourne, FL.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with his pastor, Rev. David Adams, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Kreisher family.
