Kenneth S. Hower, age 68, of Berwick, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019, a patient of the Bloomsburg Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bloomsburg where he resided for the past 14 years.
He was born on Sunday, July 22, 1951 in Catawissa, a son of the late Kenneth L. and Mary (Macrovich) Hower. Throughout his younger years, Ken attended Southern Columbia High School and Columbia Montour Vo Tech. Ken faithfully served his country with the Seabees in the U.S. Navy where he earned his GED Degree and was honorably discharged in 1982.
On November 10, 1984, Ken married his loving wife, the former Cindy L. DeWitt. For over 3 years, he was employed by Continental Packaging, Berwick as an Electrician until his illness forced his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the Lightstreet United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Bloomsburg American Legion Post # 273 and Ft. McClure Post #804 VFW, along with the National Wild Turkey Federation. Ken enjoyed spending his time hunting, especially bow hunting and turkey hunting.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 34 years, Cindy L. Hower, at home, a son, Charles James Hower of CA, two brothers, Terry L. Hower and wife Linda of Bloomsburg, and Jeff A. Hower and companion Linda Starkoski of Numidia.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Jennifer Parks Snyder, officiating. Military honors will be provided by a combined American Legion and V.F.W. contingent. Graveside committal services will be held privately at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Hower family.
