Keith Merrill Eves, age 85, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Keith was a resident of Bloomsburg area most of his life.
He was born on Tuesday, March 26, 1935 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Merrill and Florence (Yanke) Eves. Keith graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1953. Keith faithfully served his country in the US Army. On November 21, 1962, Keith married his loving wife, the former Nancy Calhoun who preceded him in death on February 7, 2018.
Keith was employed at Agway Egg Company and then as the custodian at Carver Hall, Bloomsburg University until his retirement. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg. He was a member of the Bloomsburg Elks Lodge #436 BPOE, Washington Lodge #265 F&AM and the Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg.
He enjoyed harness horse racing, gardening, bird watching, and watching his beloved Philadelphia Flyers hockey team. He enjoyed the Bloomsburg Fair, where he worked as an electrician and with the harness horses. He cherished his family and friends and loved spending time with them. He was loved and will be missed by many.
In addition to his parents and wife, Keith was also preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Levi Eves.
Survivors include his beloved daughter Diana Eves of Pittsfield, MA, step son, Steve Bright and wife Judy of Gotha, FL, four grandchildren, Justin Bright and wife Paige, Ashley Bright, Matthew Bright, Kevin Bright, and a great granddaughter, Clementine Bright.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Millville Cemetery. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Eves family.
