Kay L. DeHaven, age 66, of Berwick, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at her residence after being in ill health since September. Kay was a resident of her home in Berwick for over 40 years.
She was born on Sunday, November 18, 1951 in Danville, a daughter of the late Robert and Thelma (Dilliplane) Goodman. Throughout her younger years, Kay attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1969. Kay expanded her education by attending Wilkes Barre Business College, and graduated with a Associate Degree in Accounting. On August 25, 1973, Kay married her loving husband, Alan J. DeHaven. For over 40 years, Kay was employed as a Medical Receptionist, working for Dr. Yost, Dr. Witt, Dr. Meldrum, Dr. Perriage, Dr. Remaley and last for Dr. Meloy from 1973 2013. She also worked at Signature Health Care, Bloomsburg from 2013 until her retirement in 2016. Kay was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg. She enjoyed spending her time reading and gardening and was a very caring and compassionate woman.
In addition to her parents, Kay was also preceded in death by her brother in law, Alfred Taylor.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 44 years, Alan J. DeHaven of Berwick; a sister, Susan Taylor and a nephew, Michael Taylor both of Walkersville, MD.
Graveside funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 am in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg, with her pastor Rev. Dr. Gary D. Weaver, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the DeHaven family.
