Kathy A. (Hayman) Finsel, age 65, of Bloomsburg, died on Saturday afternoon, December 12, 2015 at her home of over 30 years surrounded by her family and under the care of Geisinger Columbia Montour Hospice.
Kathy was born on Thursday, December 29, 1949 in Bloomsburg, one of three children to Keith L. and Florence (Mowery) Hayman, Sr. While growing up on the family farms in Catawissa, Kathy attended and graduated from the Southern Columbia High School in 1967. Kathy expanded her education by attending the Wilkes Business College. For over ten years, Kathy was employed as a Psychiatric Aide at the Danville State Hospital. She was also the owner and operator of a family owned business founded in 1971, Hayman Builders, for many years. She also worked for multiple business in Columbia and Montour Counties such as Waxen Candles in Mifflinville, Crossroads in Berwick and the Blue Dolphin Lounge in Danville.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was also preceded in death by a brother, Keith L. Hayman, Jr. on August 23, 1984.
Surviving is her beloved husband of eleven years, Timothy C. Finsel, having recently celebrated an anniversary on November 18th of this year. Also surviving are her three sons: Steven Barnhart of Bloomsburg; David Barnhart and fiancé, Heather McKinley, of Shamokin; and Trevor Barnhart of Austin, TX; three grandchildren: Ariella Naught, Marie Barnhart and Emma Barnhart; and also by a brother: Kenneth W. Hayman and wife, Sharon, of Catawissa; and numerous nephews and nieces.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday morning, December 19th from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will also begin on Saturday morning, December 19th at 11 a.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Bloomsburg with her sister-in-law, Rev. Donna Homiak, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Finsel, Barnhart and Hayman families.
