Karen B. Laubach, age 72, of Almedia, passed away on Saturday morning, October 9, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Karen was a resident of her home in Scott Twp. for over 46 years.
She was born on Thursday, April 21, 1949 in Beaver Falls, PA, a daughter of the late Lurting "Pete" and Jean (Sommers) Beatty. Karen graduated from the Avonworth High School, Pittsburgh in 1967 and attended Salem College, Salem WV, for 3 years. On June 9, 1973, Karen married her loving husband, Stephen C. Laubach.
Karen was a member of the DAR, Ft. McClure Chapter, Spins and Needles a spinning and weaving guild, she was a founding member of the Central Columbia Soccer Booster Club, and a member of Central Columbia Swimming Booster Club. Karen was a longtime camper at Pioneer Camp Ground, Sullivan County and she spent her summers from the time she was 12 years old until she was 20 at Lake Mokoma in Sullivan County. She loved horseback riding when she was young and started riding again about 10 years ago at Hidden Hollow Stables, Stillwater. She loved the Bloomsburg Fair and demonstrated spinning and weaving with her guild in period costume.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 48 years, Stephen C. Laubach, a son, Eric S. Laubach and wife Mistie of Exeter, PA, two grandsons, Rowan Laubach of Dallas, PA, Jackson Laubach of Exeter, a brother, Thomas Beatty and wife Beverly of LaPorte, and a cousin, Kyle Wasserman of Cape Cod, MA.
At the request of Karen, there will not be any services. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Laubach family.
