Obituary

Karen June (Aneskevich) Watkins, age 51, of Hermitage,TN (formerly of Tresckow and Danville, PA) passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 7th, 2021.

She was born on Saturday, December 27, 1969 in Hazleton, a daughter of June (Controvich) Aneskevich of Bloomsburg and the late Thomas Aneskevich. Karen graduated from West Hazleton High School and Penn State Hazleton with an associates degree in business administration prior to having children. Karen worked as a bank teller, and film file clerk before getting involved in childcare, then was a teacher's aid. After a long career as a professional in the school system, Karen worked various positions at grocery markets.

Karen enjoyed the little things in life including thunderstorms, rainbows, sunshine, sand, and water. She was avidly learning the Spanish language. Karen lived by the motto "Life is Good". Cruising the Caribbean was her passion and she was proud to achieve Gold Cruiser Status. Karen's joy was her children and took the most pride in raising them to adulthood.

In addition to her father, Karen was also preceded in death by a sister, Maureen Aneskevich.

Survivors include her mother, June Aneskevich of Bloomsburg, her three beloved children, Sara Maureen wife of Austin Renz of Shamokin Dam, Leah Rose Watkins and her significant other Dakota Pequignot of Danville, Brett Allen Watkins of Danville, two sisters, Jennifer Blakeslee of Drums, Mary wife of Michael Getz of Bloomsburg, a brother, Jeffrey Aneskevich and wife Kristin of Weatherly, as well an aunt and uncle, cousins and several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Watkins family.
