Obituary

June W. Klingerman, age 102, of Mainville, passed away on Thursday evening, October 12, 2023, a resident of the Mount Carmel Senior Living Community. She lived in Mainville for nearly 50 years until moving to Bloomsburg after her husband's passing.

She was born on Friday, January 7, 1921 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Darcy and Emily (Patterson) Wenner. June graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1939. June considered becoming a journalist to pursue her love of writing but decided to marry her high school sweetheart and raise a family. On October 31, 1940, she married her loving husband, John C. Klingerman, who preceded her in death on April 28, 1982.

She had a strong Christian faith and was a member of Mainville Emanuel Lutheran Church for over 80 years. She was well known to be an avid supporter for her husband and the Mainville Tri-County baseball team. She was one of the first female bus drivers in Columbia County, a great cook and wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved the Phillies, Jeopardy, reading, and playing pinochle. She was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, Catawissa. June worked with her husband John in his business until his passing. Her entire life was involved with her four children, eleven grandchildren (one deceased), thirty-three great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She could always be found at sporting events and especially loved keeping stats at baseball games. Sports were a huge part of her life whether it be supporting her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, June was also preceded in death by a grandson, Darren E. Klingerman, a daughter-in-law, Eleanor Klingerman, and two sisters, Joanne Deleski and Jane Yeanish.

Survivors include her four beloved children; Gayl J. "Cheech" Klingerman and life partner Gail "Jelly" Horne of Mainville, J. Douglas Klingerman and wife Robyn of Orangeville, Richard A. "Dick" Klingerman, Sr. and wife Phyllis of Mainville, David W.
