Joyce Lawton Lehman, age 63, 7055 Scenic Drive, Scenic Knolls, Bloomsburg, died September 24, 2009 at her residence. Joyce had lived on Scenic Drive for the past forty-three years, in her early years she lived in Muncy until the mid 1950's. She had been in ill health for the past 2 ½ years.
Joyce was born January 26, 1946 in Williamsport, the daughter of the late Preston and Hope (Girton) Lawton. She was a 1963 graduate of Central Columbia High School, attended Penn State University and graduated from the former Bloomsburg State College in 1974 with a BS Ed Degree in Elementary Education.
Joyce was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg. She was a member of Pennsylvania State Education Association, was recognized in Who's Who of American Teachers, was an avid supporter of Central Columbia athletics and Penn State football.
Survivors include her husband, Terry L. Lehman who she married August 6, 1965; two daughters, Linda L. Hock and Leslie L. Siegrist and her husband Larry all of Bloomsburg; six grandchildren: Cory, Devon and Paige Siegrist and Ryan, Mitchell and Corinne Hock; a brother: Larry Lawton and his wife, Kate, Bloomsburg; nephew: Daniel Lawton, Bloomsburg and niece: Amy Acornley and her husband, Gordon, Orangeville. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 A.M. from St. Luke Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg with her pastor, Rev. Jeffrey G. Bohan officiating. Friends will be received at the church Sunday from 6 to 8 P.M. and Monday from 10 to 11 A.M. Burial will be in New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg. Memorial contributions in her name are suggested to American Cancer Society, Columbia County Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701. The family is being assisted by the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.
