Joyce M. (Ball) Campbell, age 71, of Bloomsburg, died on Friday evening, January 10, 2014 under the care of Columbia Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall in Danville. Joyce has been a resident of her home in Bloomsburg since 1980.
Joyce was born on Monday, January 21, 1942 in Pine Township, a daughter of the late Raymond and Rena (John) Ball. Throughout her younger years, Joyce attended the Millville area schools. For over 28 years, Joyce was employed by the former Bloomsburg Mills, Inc., until her retirement in May of 2009. Joyce was a former member of the Pine Summit United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Muncy VFW Edward J. Smith Post #915 and also a Washingtonville Fire Company Auxillary Social member.
On March 21, 1996, Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, Sanford Campbell. She was also preceded by a brother: George Ball; and two sisters: Betty Lawton and Erma Miller.
Survivors include seven children: Debra Musgrave and husband, Joseph, of Millville; Raymond "Jake" Campbell and wife, Debbie, of Catawissa; Kathryn "Kate" Mercurio and husband, Steven, of Danville; Sanford Campbell of Bloomsburg; Bobby Joe Campbell and wife, Loriann, of Millville; Jack Campbell and wife, Melissa, of Orangeville; and Gerald Campbell of Benton; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Ina Engle and Neva Ball both of Millville.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening, January 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will begin on Tuesday evening, January 14 at 6 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Bloomsburg with Rev. Jeanie Eckrod officiating. Graveside committal services will be held on Wednesday morning, January 15, at 11:30 a.m. in the Columbia Hill Cemetery, W. Hemlock Township.
