John D. Vincent, age 78, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at his residence in Montour Twp. where he resided for the past 45 years.

He was born on Tuesday, May 28, 1940 in Danville, a son of the late Emerson and Ruth (Miller) Vincent. Throughout his younger years, John attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1958. John expanded his education by attending Bloomsburg State College graduating in 1962, and West Chester University graduating with a Master's Degree in Biology.

On June 23, 1962, John married his loving wife, the former Saundra Zimmerman. For over 13 years, John was employed at Upper Darby High School as a Biology Teacher until 1976. John then pursued his passion in farming for the next 10 years. He was Vice President for Berwick Industries for over 12 years, he worked for Remax as a real estate agent and lastly at Kawneer, Bloomsburg where he retired.

John enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a former member of Pine Street Lutheran Church, Danville and a former member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg, where he served on church council for many years.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Saundra Vincent at home, five children; Mark J. Vincent and wife Tammy of Bloomsburg, Kim Shannon of Bloomsburg, Brian Vincent of Bloomsburg, Jeff Vincent of Bloomsburg, and William Vincent of Riverside, nine grandchildren, two great grandsons, and a brother, Dr. Joseph Vincent and wife Emily of Allentown.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Dr. Kerry P. Maurer, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Vincent family.
