John E. Sevison, age 54, of Bethlehem, died on Thursday, August 1, 2013 suddenly at his home. He was a resident of Bloomsburg his entire life until recently moving to the Bethlehem area.
John was born on Monday, June 15, 1959 in Bloomsburg, a son of Earl Sevison of Bear Gap and Ethel (Billig) Sevison of Bloomsburg. In 1978, John graduated from the Columbia Montour Area Vocational Technical School. Following his education, John enlisted with the United States Navy where he served his county faithfully for 22 years. John spent eight years of his time of dedicated service to our county in active duty in Norfolk, Virginia and Hawaii, and the remainder in the military reserves. After retiring from the military in the year 2000, John continued working for Aramark Food Service at Bloomsburg University where he was employed for over 26 years. John was currently preparing to begin his employment with the Kutztown University. John was a member of the Shiloh Bible Church in Almedia, where he served as an Usher, Greeter and a member of the Pennsylvania Racing Outreach Team.
In addition to his parents, John is survived by a daughter: Kelly Sevison of Mainville; two sisters: Mary Bolling of Bristol, TN and Donna Sevison of Berwick; and also by a brother: Douglas E. Sevison of Bloomsburg.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening, August 6 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Shiloh Bible Church, 123 Church Street, (Almedia) Bloomsburg
Funeral services will also be held on Tuesday evening, August 6 at 6 p.m. from the Shiloh Bible Church, (Almedia) Bloomsburg with his pastor, Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon, officiating. Graveside services will full Military Honors will be held privately with the family in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, Pennsylvania.
