John F. "Jack" Johnson, age 82, of Bloomsburg, died on Monday, November 19, 2018, in the emergency room of the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. Jack was a resident of his home in Scott Twp. for over 51 years.

He was born on Wednesday, May 13, 1936 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Mac I. and Eleanor E. (Klingerman) Johnson. Throughout his younger years, Jack attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the former Scott High School in 1954. He expanded his education by attending Penn State University. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1955 1957. On October 18, 1958, Jack married his loving wife, the former Dawn Brewer. Jack was self employed as a Miller and Bus Driver until his retirement. Jack was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church, he was also a member of the Orangeville Oriental Lodge #460 F&AM, and the Caldwell Consistory of Bloomsburg. Jack enjoyed spending his time completing puzzles, reading, lawn mowing, playing cards and was an avid sports fan. One of his greatest pleasures was eating his wife's homemade cooking, as long as it did not included the word "casserole".

In addition to his parents, Jack was also preceded by a sister, Maxine Sarnoski.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Dawn B. Johnson; two daughters, Jill E. Johnson and husband George Watkins of Bloomsburg and Jan J. wife of George Harris of Millville; two granddaughters, Michelle Kepner of Mifflinville; and Megan wife of Avery deGruchy of Harrisburg.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9 St. Luke's Way, Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Friday,at 12:00 pm at the church with, his pastor, Rev. Luther Martell, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Johnson family.
