Joan M. Williams, age 90, of Bloomsburg, went home to the Lord on Monday, October 21, 2024, a resident of the Tiffany Court at Kingston. Joan was a resident of her home in Bloomsburg for over 65 years.
Joan was born at home on Wednesday, November 1, 1933 in Wilkes Barre, a daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Tomchick) Obuhosky. She married her loving husband, Joseph F. Williams who preceded her in death in 1991. Joan worked retail most of her life, primarily at Sears, where she was employed until her retirement. She was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Church, where she volunteered and also volunteered at Eos Therapeutic Riding Center for children. Joan was admired for her love of animals, gardening and was also a master in ceramics. Joan felt it was her calling in life to be a caregiver to many.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was also preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Stephanoski, two brothers: Robert Obuhosky and Joseph Obuhosky.
Survivors include her beloved daughter, Lynne Murphy and husband John of New Windsor, MD; two granddaughters: Tara Murphy of Asheville, NC, and Chrissy Murphy of Catonsville, MD; and a sister, Audrey Golomb of Plains, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St., Bloomsburg with Rev. Richard J. Mowery as Celebrant. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg.
