Obituary

Joan R. (Rinker) Laidacker, age 86, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021, a patient of the Bonham Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Stillwater.

She was born on Monday, September 24, 1934 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Donald Rinker and Patricia (Pursel) Low. Throughout her younger years, Joan attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1952. For many years, Joan was employed as an Accountant by Low's Furniture and Appliance Store, Bloomsburg until her retirement. Joan was a member of the Orangeville United Methodist Church and Shiloh Bible Church, Bloomsburg. She was also a member of the Bloomsburg Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and The Red Hat Society. She loved to travel extensively with her husband, taking groups of high school students to Europe. Joan enjoyed spending her time walking with her shetland sheepdogs, gardening, spending time with her family at their summer home "The White House" in Jamison City, swimming at the Bloomsburg Town Pool and caring for her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Joan was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Zehnder Low, her husband, John S. "Jack" Laidacker, a daughter Nancy K. Laidacker, a sister, Nancy Smith, and a brother, Zehnder S. Low, Jr.

Survivors include her two beloved grandchildren; Gaia Green Laidacker Harvey and Gabriel A. Harvey both of Bloomsburg, a brother, Charles S. "Chuck" Low of Orangeville, and a sister, Beth wife of Barclay White of Lititz.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg with Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Orangeville. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Laidacker family.
