Joan F. "Joni" Reitmeyer, age 80, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Joni lived most of her life in Bloomsburg, but most recently was a resident of the Glen Brook Nursing Home in Berwick.

She was born on Sunday, October 18, 1942 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Elvin W. and Violet E. (Fausey) Thomas. Joni graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1960. She spent her childhood going to church and making friends. Joni worked at the Geisinger Medical Center, The Crossing Restaurant formerly of Buckhorn, Columbia County Farmers National Bank (now First Columbia Bank & Trust), Specialty Rollers of Berwick, the Bloomsburg Hospital and Berwick Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards with friends and playing Majong on her tablet. Joni was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist, Bloomsburg. Family joke, if you don't know who that person is, ask Joni. She will either know or she knows someone who will know.

In addition to her parents, Joni was also preceded in death by her older sister, Joyce Johnson, and her younger brother, James C. Thomas.

Survivors include her beloved daughter, Teresa Sterling and husband Jack of Amarillo, TX, a granddaughter, Caitlin Sterling of Amarillo, TX, and a sister-in-law, Ruth Thomas of Bloomsburg.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Michael Spagnuolo, pastor of Catawissa Christian Church, officiating. Graveside services will be held privately in New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Reitmeyer and Sterling families.
