Joan E. Ivey, age 89, of Bloomsburg, died on Monday, March 20, 2023, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Joan was a resident of her home in Bloomsburg for over 63 years.

Joan was born on Monday, December 18, 1933 in Millertown, a daughter of the late Donald and Mildred (Spaide) Crawford. She graduated from the former Scott High School in 1951. In 1951 Joan married her loving husband, Richard Allen Ivey. She was employed by Milco Industries as a seamstress until her retirement in 1998. Joan was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Buckhorn. She was an awesome wife to Richard and an awesome mother, she had many friends from Pennsylvania to Florida. Joan enjoyed her time with Red Hats Society, Buckhorn Swingers were very active in her life. She volunteered at the Bloomsburg Hospital and the former Hemlock Homemakers.

In addition to her parents and husband, Richard, Joan was also preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Hughes.

Survivors include her two children David Ivey and wife Carol of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Karen Klinger and husband Robert of Bloomsburg, six grandchildren: Lisa Valeski and husband Jared of Catawissa, Tami Temple and husband Patrick of Bloomsburg, Rob Klinger of Bloomsburg, Becky Mensch of Williamsport, Samantha McCurley and husband Adam of Catawissa, David Mensch and wife Krista of Cleburne, TX, and 15 great grandchildren.

Private graveside committal service will be held at the convenience of the family in Dutch Hill Cemetery. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc.745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Ivey family.
