It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Joan "Joanie" Angela Fetterman (née Buonassisi), age 76, of The Villages, Florida. Joanie is reunited with her husband of nearly 50 years, Ronald "Chick" Fetterman, her parents John and Angela Buonassisi, and a nephew Anthony Koneski, Jr.

Joanie was born and raised in Horsham, PA and later moved to Bloomsburg to attend what was then called Bloomsburg State College. It was there that she met Chick and they settled in Catawissa. Upon graduation from BSC, Joanie worked for the Shamokin Area School District as an elementary teacher and later at Knoebels and AC Moore. When her children were young, she was active in the Southern Columbia Area Booster Club and various other school functions.

Joanie and Chick moved to The Villages, Florida to retire and relax. She was active in her community center and enjoyed crafting. She continued her love of teaching by holding card making classes for other residents in The Villages.

Joanie is survived by her daughter; Michelle (Fetterman) Fyock and her husband, Michael of Woodsboro, MD and her son; Michael Fetterman and his wife, Tyuh of Clover, SC. She enjoyed her five grandchildren; Peyton, Parker and Pryce Fyock and Rylie and Evan Fetterman. She is also survived by her brother; John Buonassisi and his wife Amy of Downers Grove, IL and sister; Jane Koneski of Breinigsville, PA and several nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.

Funeral services will begin on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Michael Spagnuolo, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Fetterman family.
