Jo Anne M. (Hutchins) Erwine, age 87, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at her home.
Jo Anne was born on Sunday, January 26, 1936 in Williamsport, a daughter of the late Clyde F. and Evelyn M. (Farrar) Hutchins. She graduated from the South Williamsport Jr/Sr High school in 1954. She expanded her education by attending the former Geisinger School of Nursing in 1957. On September 10, 1960, Jo Anne married her loving husband, H. Rodney "Rod" Erwine who preceded her in death on September 14, 2021. She was employed by Geisinger and Bloomsburg Hospital as a operating room nurse when she stopped working to be a homemaker. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg. She volunteered for Geisinger, American Red Cross and the Bloomsburg Children's Museum. She enjoyed spending her time traveling, hanging out with friends and her favorite saying was "In life, in death, in life beyond death, we are the Lord's."
In addition to her parents and her husband, Jo Anne was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jackolyn Dittenhafer and Sandra Wolfe.
Survivors include her brother, Robert Clyde Hutchins of South Williamsport, a brother-in-law, William Wolfe of Oley, thirteen nieces and nephews including Kimberli Howell and husband Steven of Bloomsburg, as well as many dear friends.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. at 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Todd Davis, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Erwine family.
