Jesse L. Fulkersin, Sr. age 62, of Berwick, died on Sunday, October 11, 2015 while enjoying his life passion of hang gliding in Clinton County.
Jesse was born on Sunday, June 14, 1953 in Tokyo, Japan, one of two sons to Harry and Kyoko (Tezuka) Fulkersin. Throughout his younger years, Jesse attended and later graduated from the Berwick High School in 1971. Jesse expanded his education at Penn State University where he graduated in 1975 with a degree in Criminal Justice. After returning to the Bloomsburg area, Jesse became a father to his three children, whom he loved dearly. While living in Berwick, he was most recently employed as a kitchen and bath carpenter with the Bob Johnson Company in Bloomsburg. Jesse was a free spirit, always enjoying what life offered to him and especially his four grandchildren. Jesse was also known for his love of hang gliding throughout the United States and Mexico. He was a member of the Hyner View Hang Gliding Club, the United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association since 1990, and also the Tennessee Tree Toppers. Jesse was also a Certified Ham Radio Operator, and an avid motorcyclist.
Survivors include his only daughter: Katie Fulkersin of Dayton, Ohio; his two sons: Jesse L. Fulkersin, II and Adam W. Fulkersin also of Bloomsburg; his four grandchildren: Conner, Amara, Jace and Kellan; and a brother: Frank Fulkersin of Berwick.
A celebration of Jesse's life will be held at later date to be announced. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street is honored to be serving the Fulkersin family.
A memorial site will be constructed at the Hyner View Hang Gliding Club, memorial contributions in Jesse's name for this memorial site are suggested to the care of Jesse L. Fulkersin, II, 2739 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
