Jeffrey E. Stone, age 64, of Bloomsburg, died on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at his home where he lived for over 34 years.
Jeffrey was born on Tuesday, March 22, 1960, in Bloomsburg, a son of the late John R., Sr. and Janice I. (Sharrow) Stone. Jeffrey graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1978. He began his extended education by attending Delaware Valley College and Penn Tech (formerly WACC) and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree. He worked for over 39 years in the electrical field. He was employed by Stone Electric, LLC, PSMC, Williamsport Electric, Lancaster Electric as an Industrial Electrician.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Danville.
Jeff was an avid reader, and his favorite subject was American history particularly the civil war. He and Kathy would pick areas with historical sites to wander and explore on vacations. Anyone who knew him knew his favorite place was Gettysburg. He could tell you what happened, when and where and the names of the soldiers who fought there. He had an amazing memory. He would say "Just think, over 150 years later, people still come here to stand where people fought for what they believed in, gave everything they had for their country." And he was one of those people. Kathy became a history buff because of Jeff's love of history and our country.
Also, Jeffrey carried small American flags in his car in case he saw a veteran's grave without a flag. He didn't have to know them; he believed that veterans should be honored with a flag no matter what.
Most important though, Jeff was a firm believer in Our Lord, and in God's plan for your life. That might have accounted for why he was so easy going. He knew God was in control.
Jeff was a genealogy enthusiast, loved the outdoors including biking and walking his beloved dog, Molly. He also enjoyed archery hunting for several years.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister: Tina I. Pence.
Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 40 years, Kathleen (Casey) Stone of Bloomsburg, his three siblings: John R. Stone, Jr. and wife, Letha of Bloomsburg, Roger L. Stone and Life Partner Maureen Casey of Bloomsburg, Tracy J. Vannucci and husband Don of Williamsport, and his brother-in-law, Ron Pence of Ephrata, several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
