Obituary

Jeannette "Jeannie" Barone, age 65, of Mifflinville, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was a resident of her home in Mifflin Township for over 10 years.

Jeannie was born on Sunday, May 31, 1959 in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late John V. and Jean T. (Locklyer) Lacey. She later graduated from the Atlantic City High School. Jeannie married her husband, Ceaser R. Barone. For over 20 years, she was employed by Spahr's Tavern and VFW, Bloomsburg as a bartender until her retirement in 2019. Jeannie was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at VFW Post 804. Jeannie enjoyed spending her time shopping and eating Sunday morning breakfast with her daughter, going to the casino and having drinks with friends. She enjoyed being a Grammy to her 3 grandsons and a great-grandson. Jeannie was a big Philadelphia Eagles fan, enjoyed playing cards with family and especially loved reality TV. She enjoyed singing and dancing with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother: Michael Lacey, a nephew: James P. Lacey, a niece: Julie M. Lacey and two brothers-in-law: Manuel Garcia and Charles Inman.

Survivors include her husband: Ceaser R. Barone of Bloomsburg and her daughter, Lori A. Engler and husband Edward of Mifflinville; three grandsons: Andrew R. Barone and wife Megan of Berwick, Garrett W. Engler and wife Codi of Benton, Conner E. Engler of Mifflinville; great-grandson: Luca Edward Engler of Bloomsburg and soon to be two more great-granddaughters; four siblings: Kathleen T. Garcia of Mays Landing, NJ, John V. Lacey, Jr. and wife Jane of Berwick, Patricia J. Inman of Bloomsburg, Dan F. Lacey and wife Mary of Catawissa, and a nephew, Jerry P. Lacey and wife Tara of Numidia.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth, Bloomsburg.

Christian Wake Service will begin on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Deacon Thomas Conlin, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Barone and Engler families.
