Jeanne A. Miller, age 84, of Sherwood Village, Bloomsburg, died on Monday morning, October 10, 2011 under the care of Columbia Montour Home Hospice.
Jeanne was born on Monday, April 18, 1927 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Carl and Esther (Fleske) Loerch. She was a member of the 1945 Graduating Class of the Oliver High School and also received an Associate Degree from Robert Morris Business College and also attended the University of Pittsburgh. While a resident in Pittsburgh, she was employed as a Legal Secretary. For over 10 years, she was also employed by Columbia Montour Home Health as Personnel Director until retiring in 1991. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bloomsburg and was a member in the Altar Guild and the Church Choir. For many years, she also served as President of the Penns Woods Girl Scout Council, and served as a member of the School Board for Central Columbia School District.
Surviving is her beloved husband, Scott E. Miller of Sherwood Village. Having been married on November 24, 1955, Jeanne and Scott would have celebrated their 56th Wedding Anniversary next month. Also surviving are two daughters: Christine Massey of Bala Cynwyd, PA; and Katherine Chen and husband, Reginald, of West Windsor, NJ; three grandchildren: Laura Massey, Michael Chen and Christine Chen; a brother: Richard Loerch and wife, Erna, of Little Rock, AR; and a sister: Carolyn White and husband, Richard, of Durango, CO.
Jeanne was preceded by a son: David Miller in May of 2009 and also a sister: Grace Loerch in August of 1991.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 14 at 2 p.m. from St. Paul's Episcopal Church, E. Main and Iron Streets in Bloomsburg with the Rev. Canon Marjorie Menaul, as celebrant.
