Jean was born on January 13, 1931 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Harold M. and Charella (Koch) Narber. In her youth, Jean participated in Sunday School, choirs, marching band, and school plays. She enjoyed ice-skating, movies, and playing the piano. Jean graduated from the Watsontown High School in 1948. She expanded her education by attending cosmetology school in Williamsport, and worked in Lewisburg as a beautician for 15 years. Jean was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Bloomsburg, where she served as a Deacon, sang in the choir, and was an active member of Presbyterian Women. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, and the former Lightstreet Garden Club. Along with gardening and flower arranging, Jean also enjoyed refinishing furniture, needlepoint, reading, listening to music, and spending time outdoors-especially going for walks in new fallen snow.

In addition to her parents, Jean was also preceded in death by her husband on December 15, 2016.

Survivors include her son, Tom, of Catawissa and companion, Rene Russell; her daughter, Beth Kline and husband, Dave, of Bloomsburg; her sister, Marlene Lichliter of Camp HIll, PA, and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.

Jean lived her faith in all that she did. "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (John 13:35)
