Jean A. Johnson, age 69, of Keefer's Lane, Bloomsburg, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Orangeville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Orangeville where she had resides since June 2011. Jean was a resident of the Bloomsburg area since 1978.
Jean was born on Friday, February 26, 1943 in East Lyme, CT, a daughter of the late Charles F. and Elizabeth S. (Sheedy) Maloney. She graduated from the North Haven (CT) High School in 1961.
As long time member of St. Columba Catholic Parish, Jean was a former Cantor and Lector and wad also a former member of Sweet Adelines.
For over 43 years, she was married to Joseph J. "J.J." Johnson, having been married on August 16, 1968. Additional survivors include a daughter: Kimberly A. White and husband, Loyd, of Merrimack NH; two grandsons: Michael White and Jonathan White. Also two brothers: Charles F. Maloney, Jr. and wife, Helen, of Montgomery TX and Robert Maloney and wife, Carrie, of New Market MD who survive. Preceding Jean in death were two brothers: Alan and Paul Maloney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 10 at 11:00 am, in St. Columba Catholic Church, Third and Iron Street, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence, as celebrant.
Friends will be received at the St. Columba Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 10 from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Graveside services will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
