Jean L. Hollingshead, age 88, formerly of 342 Pine St., Catawissa died on Tuesday, December 24, 2019, a resident of a Sunrise assisted living facility in Northern Virginia. She was a lifelong resident of Catawissa, until moving to Virginia in 2016 to be nearer to her family.

She was born in Catawissa, a daughter of the late Harry and Charlotte (Harder) Hollingshead. Jean graduated Catawissa High School in 1948 and from the Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Bloomsburg Hospital for over forty years. Jean was a member of the Christ United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Catawissa.

In addition to her parents, Jean was also preceded in death by her brother Robert Hollingshead in 1986.

Jean is survived by her nephew, Mark R. Hollingshead of Reston, VA, and by her niece's family, Dr. and Mrs. Roger Hennigh (nee Diana Hollingshead) and their daughters, Michaela and Annaliese of Bristow, VA. Also by various cousins, Jane Ann Fegley and daughters, Laura and Danielle, originally of Danville and their families, Harry Harder family, the Steven Cimbala family, and Goddaughter, Vicki Riboli and family, all of the Philadelphia area.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Christ United Evangelical Lutheran Church, 116 Church St., Catawissa.

Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00 am at Christ United Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Melody Sell, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Hillside Cemetery, Catawissa. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Hollingshead family.
