Jean M. Deiterich Bowman concluded her journey in this life on Saturday, January 30 in the Grandview Health Homes in Danville, where she had been a resident for the past ten years. She was born in Bloomsburg on Wednesday, May 20, 1925, a daughter of the late Charles F. and Ethel M. (Fausey) Deiterich. She attended the Bloomsburg Area Schools and graduated in the class of 1943. She was employed by Bell Telephone Company, Sears, and Dr. J. L. Gluchoff. Jean was a talented artist and homemaker until an unfortunate accident changed her life style. During her residence at Grandview for the past ten years, her nephew, Pastor Craig D. Laidacker was her visiting pastor of the Bloomsburg Baptist Church. She is survived by a son: Charles F. Bowman, and wife Janice of Hazleton; two grandchildren: Dina Stewart, and husband Theodore of Hazleton, and Michael Bowman, and wife Jennifer of McAdoo; a great-granddaughter: Althea Stewart of Hazleton; a sister: Sherewood Appelman, and husband J. Harris of Bloomsburg, and several nephews and nieces. Jean was preceded in death by an infant son, John Henry Bowman and a sister, Sara A. Shaffer in 2009.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 3 at 11 A.M. from the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg with Pastor James Joyner, Landmark Baptist Church of Wilkes-Barre, officiating, in the absence of her nephew and pastor, Pastor Craig D. Laidacker. Friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be held in New Rosemont Cemetery.
