Janet K. Vought, age 83, of Danville, died on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, a resident of the Emmanuel Nursing Center, Danville.

Janet was born on Wednesday, July 20, 1938 in Muncy, a daughter of the late Fred W. and Bessie (White) Kistler. Throughout her younger years, Janet attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1956.

For 46 years Janet was employed as an Executive Secretary, the majority of which was with John H. Shuman, Inc. until her retirement in 2002.

Janet was a member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg and the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO).

She enjoyed spending her time playing cards and dominoes with friends, camping with "the gang", attending Bloomsburg Fair, spending time with family and friends and square dancing with the Danjo Wheelers. She preferred ice cream over a regular meal. Most of all Janet cherished the time she spent with her three grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Janet was also preceded by her husband, John P. Vought, Jr. on August 28, 2009 with whom she enjoyed 52 years of marriage and by a sister, Patricia Diseroad.

Survivors include her daughter, Brenda V. (Jeffrey) Hyle of Lancaster, son, John K. (Donna) Vought of Bloomsburg, grandchildren: Ashley N. Vought, John T. Vought, and Emma B. Hyle; and a brother, Fred W. (Rebecca) Kistler, Jr. of Orangeville.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St. Bloomsburg. Friends and family will also be received on Tuesday, from 10 to 11am at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 123 Market St. Bloomsburg, with, her pastor, Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Elan Memorial Park. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Vought family.
