Janet S. (Setzer) Layos, age 85, of Bloomsburg, died on Friday evening, February 5, 2016, a resident of the Fritzingertown Senior Living Community in Drums.
Janet was born on Saturday, October 18, 1930 in Berwick, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Harry and Beatrice (Fish) Setzer. Throughout her younger years, Janet attended the Berwick area schools. On October 7, 1950, Janet married her loving husband, Eugene R. Layos, formerly of Mainville. Eugene preceded Janet in death on September 11, 1999.
For over 20 years, Janet was employed by Bloomsburg University as a custodian until her retirement in 1990. Janet enjoyed spending her time with family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was also preceded by five siblings: Donald Richards, Marion Hummel, Wesley Setzer, Betty Yorks and Harry Setzer.
Survivors include two daughters: Judy Steward and husband, Harold of Berwick and Gale Chamberlain and husband, Martin, of Orangeville; four grandchildren: Christopher and Kyle Steward, Jessalynn Heydenreich and Kasey Mowery; four great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Force; and brothers: Henry Setzer and Frank Setzer and wife, Nancy, all of Berwick.
Funeral Services will be privately and at the convenience of the family. Graveside committal services will be held in the Pine
