Obituary

Janet M. (Raudenbush) Sokol, age 78, a resident of her home in Mt. Pleasant Township for over 40 years, died on Thursday evening, November 27, 2014 a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Janet was born on Friday, June 19, 1936 in Ashland, a daughter of the late William E. and Alverta (Semerod) Raudenbush. Throughout her younger years, Janet attended and later graduated in 1954 from the Lower Moreland High School in Montgomery County. On June 16, 1956, Janet married her husband, Anthony "Tony" Sokol. After moving to Mt. Pleasant Township, Janet helped her husband on the family farm in addition to raising their five children. Outside of the home, Janet was employed for over 28 years by the former Bloomsburg Hospital in the Phlebotomy Laboratory. For many years, she attended the Kitchen United Methodist Church with her family in Mt. Pleasant Township.
Surviving is her beloved husband of 58 years, Anthony "Tony" Sokol, of Bloomsburg. Also surviving are her five children, a daughter: Beth A. Holloway and husband, William, of Millville; four sons: Anthony R. "Tony" Sokol and wife, Cynthia, of Orangeville; Paul W. Sokol and wife, Debbie, of Bloomsburg; Raymond J. Sokol and wife, Karen, also of Bloomsburg; Brian A. Sokol and wife, Kristi, of Orangeville; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and also a sister: Nancy Eisle of Barefoot Bay, Florida and a brother: Claude Raudenbush of Holland, PA.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday morning, December 3 from 10 t0 11 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will also begin on Wednesday morning, December 3 at 11 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Bloomsburg with Rev. Charles Claybourn, of the Orangeville United Methodist Parish, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the McHenry Hill Cemetery, Orange Township. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Sokol family.
