Obituary

Janet D. (Pursel) Roeder, age 77 of Nuremburg, died on Monday morning, December 14, 2015 a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Janet was born on Tuesday, December 28, 1937 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of Marion (Gilpin) St. James of Oneida, Pennsylvania, and the late Ted Pursel. Throughout her younger years, she attended the Bloomsburg area schools. For over 20 years, Janet was employed as a commercial sewing machine operator for the former Magee Carpet Company, and retired from Magee-Reiter Carpet Company on January 1, 2004. She was a member of the Bloomingdale Bible Church in Shickshinny for many years. Janet's family will always remember the wonderful tasting fudge that she would make as well as the many different crocheting projects she would create. Janet loved sharing memories with her family, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and anxiously awaited the arrival of all family functions.
In addition to her father, Janet was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen E. Lynn on December 19, 2007 and by two sisters: June Elizabeth St. James and Kay Elaine Moyer.
Surviving in addition to her mother, is a fiancé: Thomas Hartranft of Nuremburg; six children: Suzzanne Nazar and husband, Jon, of Richmond, VA; Cindy Fisher and husband, Lloyd, of Catawissa; Alison Jumper and husband, Clarence, of Catawissa; Linda Sprague and husband, Andy, of Shickshinny; Laurie McCraw and husband, Keith, of Walnut Grove. MS; and George J. Lynn and fiancé, Brenda, of Berwick; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers: Robert St. James and wife, Sherleen, of Oneida; and Edward St. James of Wilmington, DE.
In honoring Janet's request, the family will be holding all funeral services privately at this time. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Roeder and St. James families.
