Janet B. Millard, age 90, of Orangeville and formerly Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at The Gardens at Orangeville. She lived a life marked by devotion to her family.
She was born on Saturday, December 9, 1933 in Shamokin, a daughter of the late Anthony and Helen (Krohleski) Balonis. Janet graduated from the Shamokin Area High School. Janet was last employed by Bloomsburg University in the food service department until her retirement.
In addition to her parents, Janet was also preceded in death by her husband Henry Eugene Millard and her siblings, four brothers; Frank, Anthony, Robert and Thomas Balonis, a sister; Margaret Balonis, along with her precious grandson, Hank Ryan Millard.
Survivors include her children, a son, Michael L. Millard of Catawissa, two daughters, Dorene Frantz and her husband James of Emmaus, Sandra Powlus and her husband Joey of Berwick. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren; Kelly, Jesse, Christopher, Katelyn, Matthew, Jami and Joseph, and her treasured great-grandchildren; Kori, Taylor, Jeremy, Charlotte, Tanner, Cooper, Cameron, and Presley. Janet is also survived by her sister, Joanne Stancavage, and a sister-in-law Mary Ann Balonis.
Private graveside services will be held in New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg with Rev. Michael Spagnuolo, pastor of Catawissa Christian Church, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Millard family.
