Obituary
James J. "Jim" Molick, age 80, of Catawissa, passed away on Monday morning, October 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at his home under the care of Commonwealth Hospice, Berwick. Jim was a lifelong resident of his home in Catawissa Twp.
He was born on Wednesday, March 10, 1943 in Mt. Carmel, a son of the late John J. and Mary (Simon) Molick. He attended Southern Columbia High School. He faithfully enlisted on August 17, 1960 in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged May 5, 1964. On April 15, 1967, Jim married his loving wife, the former Donette Cox. Jim was an electrician by trade having worked for Bechtel Power Corp.
For many years, Jim was an elected Catawissa Township Supervisor until 2019. He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg. He was also a Board Member for Danville Area Community Center, Continental Fire Company, Danville, and Search and Rescue Scuba, Danville. He was an avid sportsman and hunter, hunting locally and in the Adirondacks. Jim loved animals, especially his lab dog, Annie.
In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Molick.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Donette Molick of Catawissa, a son, John J. Molick and wife Terrye of Selinsgrove, a sister-in-law, Pat Abraczinskas of FL, a brother-in-law Jimmy Cox and his wife Linda of Orangeville, several nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews including two special great-nephews; Austin and Andrew Molick who spent special time with him.
The family would love to thank the hospice nurses, Tammy and Sandy, as well as Father Dennis Dalessandro of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Slabtown.
Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
