Obituary

Jim, 85, left this earth and entered into the presence of his Savior on September 24, 2021. In the blink of an eye, his faith became sight.

He was born in Sayre, PA to David and Susie Emery. He married the love of his life in 1958, Margaret Weyhe. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Margaret, 3 sons and daughters in law, Marc and Jill Loveland CO, Dale and Melissa Flushing MI, Chad and Dana Richardson TX; 10 Grandchildren Paige and Jordan Kimball, Kendal and Erik Wolgemuth, Morgan and Dylan Williams, Jordan and Zach Cordes, Mitchell, Quinn, Dillon, Cooper, Reagan and Madison; 9 Great grandchildren; and a sister, Edna (97) Carol Stream, Ill. In addition to his family, he leaves behind a legion of those who would call him friend, counselor, chaplain, mentor, pastor, teacher, leader, and shepherd.

Jim graduated from Practical Bible Training (Binghamton, NY) in 1958 and then from Grace College (Winona Lake, IL) in 1968. Over the years, he served the following churches leading youth, college, and worship ministries. Main Street Baptist Oneonta NY; Glen Park Baptist Gary, IN; First Baptist Goshen IN; Ridgewood Baptist Joliet, IL; South Church Lansing, MI; Cherrydale Baptist Arlington, VA; Scofield Memorial Dallas, TX; Calvary Baptist Grand Rapids, MI. After "retirement" in 2005, he served with Marketplace Chaplains for Gordon Foods and Our Bread Ministries for the rest of his life.

Jim was a gifted self taught musician and a life long learner. He was passionate about investing in the lives of others. A memorial service will be held at Grace Community Church Hudsonville, MI Friday, October 1 at 7:00pm.
