James A. "Jim" Dalton, age 80, of Stillwater, died on Monday, April 22, 2019, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Jim was a resident of his home in Stillwater for over 44 years.
He was born on Sunday, August 14, 1938 in Elizabeth, NJ, a son of the late James and Helen (Abrahamson) Dalton. Jim graduated from the Elizabeth High School, Elizabeth, NJ. Jim expanded his education by attending Union College, Union, NJ and graduated with a Associate Degree. Jim faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
On April 13, 1973, Jim married his loving wife, the former Joan S. Derkowski. For over 39 years, he was employed by Autoneum, Bloomsburg as a Carpet Repairman until his retirement. Jim enjoyed watching tv, reading books, and traveling.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Joan S. Dalton at home, four children Greg A. Dalton and wife Moira of Bloomsburg, Doreen A. wife of Edward Krushinski of Nanticoke, Mark Place and wife Audra of Bassett, VA, James A. Dalton III and wife Dawn of Middletown, PA, four grandchildren, John Blackburn, Erin wife of Mike Yaple, Gunnor Place, and Brianna Dalton, 6 great grandchildren, three sisters, Nancy Thorn of Davenport, FL, Linda Dicky of Davenport, FL, and Janine wife of Roy Cattleman of FL.
Funeral Services will be private at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Dalton family.
