James P. Hickey, age 71, of Catawissa, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. James was a resident of his home in Franklin Township for over 37 years.

He was born on Friday, December 4, 1953 in Denver, CO, a son of the late Joseph and Phyllis (Chenoweth) Hickey. James graduated from the Oswego High School, Oswego, NY in 1971. On June 22, 1985, James married his loving wife the former, Jan M. Fetterman. For over 40 years James was employed by the Iron Workers Unions of Reading and Harrisburg until his retirement in 2012. James enjoyed skiing, golfing, and doing puzzles. He loved watching NASCAR with his golden doodle, Gabby, by his side.

In addition to his parents, James was also preceded in death by a brother, Albert Hickey and a brother-in-law Glenn Woerner.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 40 years, Jan F. Hickey, one sister, Mary Woerner of Reston, VA, three brothers, Joseph Hickey (Dana) of Douglasville, PA, Michael Hickey (Natalie) of Leesburg, VA, Matthew Hickey (Cathy Moonshine) of Hilo, HI, a brother-in-law, Randy Fetterman (Penny) of Catawissa, nine nieces and nephews, Mclane Goard (Matt), Allisan Riddle (Jim), Steven Hickey, Mathias Hickey (Lisa), Kristen Bentz (Ryan), Patrick Hickey (Chris Davis), Michael Hickey (Lauren), Jon Fetterman (Jamee), Joy Shehoski (Matt), as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Kulp United Methodist Church, 1395 Old Reading Road, Catawissa, PA.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Kulp United Methodist Church with Pastor Kym Eichelberger, officiating.
