Obituary

James Adams Fagley, age 69, of Bloomsburg, died on Saturday afternoon, May 25, 2013, after a brief stay as a patient of Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Jim was born on Tuesday, February 15, 1944 in Shamokin, a son of the late Hiram John and Molly Elizabeth (Adams) Fagley. Throughout his younger years, Jim attended the Shamokin Area School and became a member of the 1962 Graduating Class of the Shamokin High School.
On April 14, 1966, Jim enlisted with the United State Army where he served his country faithfully as an Aircraft Turbine Engine Mechanic during the Vietnam War. During his time of dedicated service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Services Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and also the Expert Badge. On April 14, 1969, Jim was honorably discharged from his time of service and dedication to this nation.
For over 20 years, Jim was employed by the former Magee Reiter in Bloomsburg as a Machine Mechanic until his retirement in 2009. He was a member of the Bloomsburg American Legion Post #273, the National Rifle Association and the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Bloomsburg. Jim loved spending his time with his family hunting, fishing, camping, playing cards and boating. His family will always remember their times spent together enjoying the outdoors, laughing and having the occasional drink together.
Surviving is his beloved companion of over 14 years, Linda L. Powlus of Bloomsburg; two sons: James A. Fagley, Jr. and companion, Jackie Pecce, of Shamokin; and Shawn W. Fagley and wife, Pamela, of Danville: a daughter: Sherri A. Savage and fiancé, Charles Grato, of Weymouth, MA; a stepdaughter: Sheri Renner of Central: six grandchildren: Eric J. Fagley, Courtney Pomes, Brent Beckley, Tyler J. Marshall, Nicholas Marshall, and Kiersten Marshall, a great-granddaughter: Alexa, and also a sister: Joan Lesher of the Philadelphia area.
Preceding him in death was a brother, John Fagley, and a sister, Margaret Romanoskie.
A time of Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29th from 10 to 11 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will also begin on Wednesday, May 29th at 11 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Bloomsburg with his pastor, Rev. Jeffrey G. Bohan, officiating. Graveside services with complete Military Honors will be held in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shamokin.
