Jade L. Swartwood, age 73, of Bloomsburg, passed away at her home on Friday afternoon, January 10, 2025 surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Compassus Hospice. She was a resident of her home in Bloomsburg for over 37 years.
Jade was born on Monday, March 12, 1951 in Scranton, a daughter of the late Hilda (Stanton) Lee. She graduated from the Tunkhannock High School in 1969. On October 9, 1971, Jade married her loving husband, Darryl Swartwood. For over 25 years, Jade was employed by Bloomsburg University in the Geography & Earth Sciences Department as a Clerk Steno II until her retirement in 2010. She had immense love for her family.
In addition to her mother, Jade was also preceded in death by a daughter, Andrea Elaine Swartwood on June 2, 1984.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 53 years, Darryl Swartwood, three daughters: Amber Lee Swartwood, Eliza Anne Wintersteen, Rachel Lynn Swartwood and husband John Cox, all of Bloomsburg, four grandchildren: Emily Elaine Carlson, James Liam Joline, Mia Daryl Wintersteen, Karsyn Lucille Cox all of Bloomsburg, a great-grandson to be: Arlo Reid Beaver, numerous sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Swartwood family.
