Jacqueline L. "Jackie" McGinley, age 70, of Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 6, 2021.

She was born on February 5, 1951 in Smithtown NY, daughter of the late Paul and Kathleen (Whalen) Falk. She graduated from high school in Smithtown before attending and graduating from Wilkes University. At Wilkes, she was a cheerleader, met her future husband James "Jay" McGinley, a wrestler. They were married on August 9, 1975 on Long Island, NY. Jay and Jackie moved to Catawissa and eventually to Bloomsburg to raise a family. Jackie worked at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for many years before she and Jay had two daughters, Kathy and Sarah McGinley in 1983 and 1986. Later, she worked for the Bloomsburg Area School District, including as an elementary student reading aide before retiring.

Jackie was an avid and talented gardener. She supported her husband Jay, the former Junior High and High School wrestling coach at Southern Columbia Area School District, by tirelessly cheering for the Southern wrestling team, even after his retirement. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, frequently visiting New York, Florida, her daughters' homes in Maryland and, of course, as a former Long Islander, the beach whenever she could. She also playfully collected snowmen decorations to the delight of her family. Above all else, she was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Jackie stayed at home raising Kathy and Sarah for much of their childhood. Their love of reading was instilled in them by Jackie.

Jackie is survived by her husband Jay McGinley, brother Paul Falk, daughter Kathy McGinley and husband J.P. McAfee, daughter Sarah McGinley and five grandchildren, Julius Serrano, Rose Adams, Paul McAfee, Violet Adams and John McAfee.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg.

Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 11:00 am. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the McGinley family.
