Jacob A. "Jake" Shuman, age 33, of Bloomsburg, died on Friday, December 7, 2018, surrounded by his family at his home in Main Township.

Jacob was born on Thursday, April 11, 1985 in Bloomsburg, a son of Susan A. Shuman and the late James E. Shuman. Throughout his younger years, Jacob attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Columbia Montour Vocational Technical School in 2003. Jacob expanded his education by attending SUNY Morrisville NY, and graduated with a Associate Degree in 2005. Jake was employed by Hanson Aggregates as an Quarryman and also farmed in Main Township. He was a member of the Emanuel Reformed Church of Mainville. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Columbia County Farm Bureau and a member of the Short Way Truck Club. He enjoyed spending his time blacksmithing and welding. He was an avid reader and a fan of John Wayne and Johnny Cash.

Survivors in addition to his mother are three siblings: Sara Becker and husband, Joe, Carrie Shuman and fiance, Frank Tanner, and Joshua Shuman all of Bloomsburg; grandmother: Joyce Baylor; nephew: Eli Becker; and aunts & uncles: Bonnie & Steve Wasilowsky, Mel & Tina Baylor, Karen & David Wendorf, Donna & Gary Uldriks, and Ken Shuman.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eight St., Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Shuman family.
