Jack B. Eckroth, age 70, of English Hill Road, Bloomsburg, died on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the Bloomsburg Hospital Emergency Room. A resident of his home on English Hill for the past four years, he formerly lived in Millville for many years. Jack was born on Monday, September 11, 1939 in Bloomsburg the son of the late Lawrence R. and Harriet Jones Eckroth Sr. He graduated from Millville High School, Class of 1957 and continued onto receive Barber training in Harrisburg. Early in life Jack was employed with Nichol's Barber Shop in Iola. He later owned and operated Eckroth's Barber shop on Main Street, Millville for many years until retiring in 2006. After retiring he was employed part-time by Folk Florist, Lime Ridge. Jack liked spending time with his family and grandchildren. In his spare time he also enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing and was a member of the Little Fishing creek Rod and Gun Club. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Eckroth. Surviving is his wife, the former Linda Beitz with whom he would have celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on September 7, 2010; two sons, Brant Eckroth and his wife Tracy, and Sean Eckroth, all of Bloomsburg; grandchildren, Cassie, Jacob and Dylan Eckroth and Stacy and Jesse McWilliams, all of Bloomsburg and a brother, Lawrence Eckroth Jr., Bloomsburg. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. The Eckroth family is being assisted by the Allen Funeral Home at 745 Market Street in Bloomsburg.
