J. Wesley Kinsey, age 86, of Almedia in Bloomsburg, died suddenly on Thursday morning, October 17, 2013 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Wesley was born on Monday, August 22, 1927 in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Ivan and Ione (Readman) Kinsey. Throughout his younger years, Wesley completed his education from the Phoenixville Area Schools. As a younger man, Wesley developed a great passion and talent for hunting, fishing and became an accomplished woodworker. For most of his working career, he was employed by Girton Manufacturing in Millville until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Post #273 in Bloomsburg.
On April 26, 2007, Wesley was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 34 years, the late Donna (Rhoads) Kinsey.
Survivors include his companion, Betty Siipple of Bloomsburg; two daughters: Holly Funk and husband, William, of Ephrata; Bonnie McIntyre and husband, Fred, of Phoenixville; three grandchildren: Elizabeth Morris, Timothy Funk, and Amanda O'Malley; four great-grandchildren: Ellen and Anna Morris, and Quinn and Benjamin Funk; and also three sisters: Ruth Fry, Janice Wood and Elaine Eades. Wesley's extended family includes three sisters-in-law: Eleanor Beltz of Bloomsburg, Josey Geary of Harrisburg and Betty Beyers and husband, William, of Bloomsburg along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday afternoon, October 22 from 12 to 1 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg
Funeral services will also begin on Tuesday, October 22 at 1 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Bloomsburg with Lay Minister, Charles Dyer, of Shiloh Bible Church officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
