Iris M. Johnson, age 93, of Bloomsburg, died on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, a resident of The Gardens at Millville. Iris was a resident of her home in Scott Township for over 50 years.
Iris was born on Sunday, November 8, 1925 in Greenwood Twp., Columbia County, a daughter of the late Guy E. and Grace A. (Everett) Kile. Throughout her younger years, Iris attended the Greenwood and South Centre Schools.
For over 45 years, Iris was employed by Bloomsburg Mills as a Spinner until her retirement in 1987. She was also a member of the Berwick Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, Iris was also preceded by her husband George Johnson in 2000 and siblings: Rosalyn Fahringer, Isabelle Long, Guy J. Kile, Kenneth Kile, and Nancy Ellen Kile.
Survivors include her daughters: Connie Young of New Orleans, LA and Bonnie Johnson and husband, George, of Saraland, AL, grandchildren: Tavelynn Karpovich and husband, John Paul, of Hunlock Creek, Charles Young of Sweet Valley, and Sherry Lewis of Saraland, AL; great granddaughters: Georgia Karpovich and Hailey Karpovich; and a brother: Ronald S. Kile and wife, Mae, of Pond Hill.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eight Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Johnson family.
