Imogene M. Hughes , age 87, of Bloomsburg, died on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Columbia Montour Hospice. Imogene was a resident of her home in Bloomsburg for her entire life.
Imogene was born on Wednesday, October 30, 1928 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Eval and Mary (Vincent) Stuckey. Throughout her younger years, Imogene attended the Bloomsburg area schools.
For over 27 years, Imogene was employed by Bloomsburg School District as a Custodian. She was also a member of the Circle of Sisters.
Imogene was known for her cooking. She enjoyed spending her time collecting dolls and jewelry; was an avid Berwick football fan, and she mostly enjoyed supporting her family's interests and activities.
In addition to her parents, Imogene was also preceded by her husband of 46 years, Harry T. Hughes, who died November 22, 2014.
Survivors include her four children Robert N. Moore of Berwick, Nancy Miller and husband, Leonard, of Bloomsburg, Susan Pruitt of Berwick, and Thomas M. Hughes and wife, Renee, of Berwick; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; sisters, Lillian Fields of Bloomsburg and Sara Ann Browning of Harrisburg, PA.
Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11:00 am in the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Bersy McCormick, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Hughes family.
