Ila Mae Force, age 87, of Bloomsburg, died on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, a patient of the The Gardens at Orangeville. Ila was a resident of her home in South Center Township for over 61 years.
Ila was born on Sunday, December 16, 1928 in Berwick, a daughter of the late Forest and Avis (Harris) Andreas. Throughout her younger years, Ila attended and later graduated from the Berwick High School in 1947. For over 20 yr years, Ila was employed by Bloomsburg University in the Housekeeping Department. She was a life long member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Espy where she was a member of the church choir and the United Methodist Women's Group. For many years she attended to the church altar flowers. She enjoyed spending her time antiquing and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchild.
Ila was preceded in death by her husband Harold L. Force on April 5, 1996.
Survivors include two sons: Dennis L Force of Mountain Top, and Harold S. (Marykay) Force of Bloomsburg, two granddaughters: Lindsy A. (John) Maxwell and Jessica L. (Daniel) Hakes and a great granddaughter: Madeline A. Maxwell. Close family friend Barry Schlauch is among those who will be mourning her passing. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will continue on Monday, 11:00 am her pastor, Caleb Fritz, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Force family.
