Herbert C. "Herb" Rampe, III age 76, of Catawissa, passed away on Monday morning, August 8, 2022, at The Grandview Health and Rehabilitation Center, Danville. Herb was a resident of his home in Locust Twp. for over 26 years.

He was born on Thursday, November 1, 1945, in Southampton, NY, a son of the late Herbert C. Rampe, II and Betty (Miller) Downs. Herb attended Southampton High School, Southampton, NY before faithfully serving in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. On December 1, 2000, Herb married his loving wife, the former Rose M. Melendez. For over 30 years, he was employed as a supervisor by the former Exelon, now Peco Energy until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the The American Philatelic Society and The Linns Stamp News. Herb enjoyed photography, stamp collecting, gardening, going for long car rides and getting lost. He loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Herb was also preceded in death by a brother, Louden Rampe.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 21 years, Rose M. Rampe, three children; Christopher S. Rampe and fiancée Tamara Sullivan of Milton, Randi L. Sherman and husband Robert of Berwick, Ricky L. Levan, Jr. of Shickshinny, ten grandchildren; Jaime Leighton and husband Doug, Robert McClosky, Alexis Polcyn and husband Austin, Aysia Sherman, Nickolas Sherman, Lucas Sherman, Julian Sherman, Kayla Levan, Olivia Temple, Brendon Levan, three great-grandchildren, Madalyn Leighton, Michael Leighton, and Greyson Polcyn.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Rampe family.
