Helen Jean Pursel, age 79, of Bloomsburg, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 18, 2023, a patient of The Gardens at Orangeville. Helen was a resident of her home in Lime Ridge for over forty years.

Helen was born on Saturday, July 29, 1944 in Coatesville, a daughter of the late Roy R. and Jeanette (Peck) Fisher. She graduated from the Scott Senior High School, Coatesville in 1963. On March 22, 1974, Helen married her loving husband, Gary Larue Pursel who preceded her in death on July 18, 2016. She enjoyed camping, traveling especially going to the beach, bingo, attending concerts and her beloved dog, Gunner.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons; Michael L. Pursel and Matthew Pursel, a grandmother; Helen McCalley, three brothers; Charles G. Barto, Sr., Joe Walton and Fred Walton.

Survivors include her two sons; Mark L. Pursel of Bloomsburg, Kevin Pursel of Bloomsburg, six grandchildren; Amanda N. Pursel of Bloomsburg, Britni K. Hess and husband Dayton of Benton, Mark B. Pursel of Berwick, Willow B. Pursel of Benton, Orien M. Pursel of Benton, Cody D. Kramer and wife Amber of Berwick, five great-grandchildren; Madalyn Kramer, Makayla Kramer, Wayde Hess, Wrenley Hess, Merrick Kramer, six siblings; Roy R. Walton of Reading, Marion Sheain of FL, Stella Morrison of Coatesville, Naomi Beck and husband Douglas of Berwick, Albertine "Tiny" Snyder of Berwick, Judy "Sandy" John and husband Mark of Limerick, a sister-in-law, Marjorie Barto of FL, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.

Graveside committal services will be held on Wednesday November 29, 2023 at 10:00 am in Creveling Cemetery, Almedia with Rev. Michael Spagnuolo, Catawissa Christian Church, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Pursel family.
