Heather E. (Andrews) Slotterback, age 65, of Marion Heights passed away peacefully on Friday morning, January 8, 2016 in the Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care Center where she resided since December 28.
Heather was born on Saturday, September 8, 1950 in Toronto, Canada; a daughter of the late Donald and Doris (Armstrong) Andrews. After graduating from high school in Canada she attended the University of Toronto for two years. She moved to Marion Heights in 1978 shortly after the birth of her first child.
Heather was a world traveler in her younger years having toured Europe for a year on two occasions. During her 36 years in Marion Heights she would knit mittens for the neighborhood children in the winter and had a ready supply of popsicles for them in the summer.
Heather was a devoted Teacher's Aide, she was part of a local "Breakfast Club" with her fellow teachers. She had been employed at the Trevorton Elementary School and the Line Mountain School District. She also worked at Knoebel's Amusement Park for 10 years.
Survivors include a daughter: Sarah Barrett and spouse, Frederick, of Baltimore MD; two sons: Daniel Slotterback of Thornhurst PA and Andrew Slotterback of Kenosha WI; two grandchildren: Zachary and Lillian. Heather came from a large family in Toronto, Ontario with six brothers: Steven, Allen, David, Dwight, Donald and Scott and two sisters: Sandra and Cheryl.
Funeral services will be held in Toronto. Interment will be in a family plot located there. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street Bloomsburg PA is honored to be serving the Slotterback family.
