Harry A. Dent, age 88, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023, a patient of Vintage Knolls in Danville. Harry was a resident of his home in Mt. Pleasant Township for over 58 years.

Harry was born on Monday, June 24, 1935 in Orangeville, a son of the late Russel and Helen (Hippenstiel) Dent. He graduated from the former Scott Twp. High School in 1953. Shortly after graduating he enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean War in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1959. On June 4, 1965, Harry married his loving wife, Marion (Dershem) Dent. He was employed by Kawneer as a Salesperson until his retirement. Harry was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg, he was also a member of the Church Choir and Jubilate Choir. He enjoyed spending his time gardening, golfing, hunting, playing cards and was a handyman.

In addition to his parents, Harry was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Hess.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Marion Dent of Bloomsburg; two children: Mark Dent and companion Ronica Gerasimoff of Benton and Maureen Klingaman and her husband Loren of Holtwood, PA two granddaughters; Christine Klingaman of Fairfax, VA and Elise Klingaman of Holtwood, PA and a sister, Shirley Turner and her husband Jon of Bloomsburg.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 123 Market Street, Bloomsburg. For those attending, please use the side door due to repairs.

Funeral Services will begin on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11:00 am at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Canby Lutheran Cemetery, Bloomsburg. Military honors will be provided by the combined VFW and American Legion Honor Guard. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc.745 Market at Eighth Street, is honored to be serving the Dent family.
