Harriet E. Neyhard, age 97, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, a patient of the Sunset Ridge Healthcare Center in Bloomsburg. Harriet was a resident of Bloomsburg for over 43 years.
She was born on Monday, May 2, 1921 in North Centre Twp., a daughter of the late Harry and Grace (Fairman) Edwards. Throughout her younger years, Harriet attended the former Orangeville area schools, and later graduated from the former Orangeville High School. Harriet expanded her education by graduating from The Bloomsburg Hospital School of Nursing. On June 16, 1943 Harriet married her loving husband, Albert L. Neyhard who preceded her in death on November 14, 1976. For many years, Harriet was employed by The Bloomsburg Hospital as a Registered Nurse until her retirement. She was a member of the Orangeville United Church and served on the church board. Harriet loved her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she also enjoyed cooking, baking and playing bridge.
In addition to her parents and husband, Harriet was preceded in death by two brothers, Myron and Kenneth Edwards and two sisters, Annabelle Ashelman and Hazel Trump.
Survivors include a daughter Pamela wife of Dwight Lord of Land O' Lakes, FL; two grandchildren, Jonathan Lord of Land O' Lakes, FL, and Abby Lord of Clearwater, FL, a great grandson, Payton Lord, and a great granddaughter, Harper Lord.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Mark Rowell, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Orangeville. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Neyhard family.
